A hall leads through to an open-plan kitchen and reception room running the width of the apartment, with a dining table for six, a seating area and windows onto the yard.
The principal bedroom opens onto a private balcony overlooking the courtyard and has its own en-suite shower room. The second bedroom takes zip-and-link beds, made up as a super-king or as twins, and is served by a separate bathroom with a bath and shower off the hall.
Three Kings Yard is the only gated road in central London. Part of the Grosvenor Estate and named for a tavern that once stood at its entrance, it has been a discreet enclave for more than three hundred years, and keeps its eighteenth-century mews character, its embassy residences and the clock-tower archway added in 1908. Step through the gates and the city goes quiet. Claridge's is the nearest neighbour.
